Employment Opportunities
The Department of Criminology of the University of South Florida invites applications for one or two (1 or 2) nine-month tenure-track position(s) at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 7, 2008 (both contingent upon available funding). To be eligible for consideration, applicants must have a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related social science discipline. ABDs will also be considered, but must show evidence that the Ph.D. will be in hand by time of appointment. Applicants who earn the Ph.D. between August 7, 2008 and August 7, 2009, will be considered for initial employment at the rank of Instructor.
Area of specialization is open. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate an ability to make a solid contribution to the department’s doctoral program as well as a strong potential for research productivity, external funding, and teaching effectiveness. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. Salary is competitive and negotiable.
